A few words from yours truly…
Many of us have a strong and occasionally secret desire to make our way to
the “good things” in life. Despite infinite existing definitions of “good
things”, to many, “getting over their stuff” and/or finding courage to make
healthier choices may be the best things that could take place in their
life.
Changing our ways may be a difficult
task. In the end, however, the rewards will make it all worthwhile. This
life changing transformation requires awareness, will, courage, honesty,
humility, and, undoubtedly, a great amount of determination.
I am a firm believer in the saying: “when there is a will, there is
a way”. However, sometimes we may need some support and help to find
our “way”. Our negative past experiences may have tinted our
view of ourselves. Subsequently, we may face difficulties recognizing our
many strengths and capabilities. This will ultimately lead to losing our
way through the fog of insecurities, fears and doubts. Therefore, we may
need someone who will walk the path back to clarity with us, someone who
we can lean on for support as we dig our way out through the past, someone
who will encourage us to move forward but will respect our pace with the
journey, someone who will help us examine our choices, someone who will be there for us while we work toward achieving
all the good things we so desire and deserve.
Whether that someone is a close friend, life time partner, trusted clergy
or a compassionate psychotherapist, the support is always available when
we are ready to receive it. We may find opportunities of receiving support
in a friend's smile, a loving phone message from a family member or a piece
of writing we happen to have come across on the internet. I strongly believe
that once we feel ready to change our ways, doors of opportunity will open
up so that we can easily identify the sources of support. If we seek them
out, we shall find them!
The knowledge that we deserve to have good things in life will allow us
to picture the life we desire. We need to stay focused on that picture in
our mind by making certain that all our thoughts, words and actions are
in alignment with our goal to work toward the envisioned future; a future
which is no longer tinted by “our stuff”.
May you find your way to all the good things your heart desires.
Truly,
Homeyra Faghihi
